The Coating System
Three Layers, One Membrane
The MetalGuard build-up is a primer-membrane-topcoat sandwich engineered specifically for corroding steel:
- Rust-inhibiting primer on prepared and spot-treated areas locks down residual oxide and passivates the surface.
- Pure polyurea base membrane — the structural layer. It self-flashes around every screw head, bridges panel laps, and cures tack-free in seconds so crews keep moving.
- Silicone-class reflective topcoat takes the UV hit and sheds ponding water at low-slope transitions, keeping the membrane underneath essentially ageless.
At roughly 80 sq ft per gallon per 20-mil pass, a 40-mil system on a 20,000 sq ft warehouse is a predictable material order and a one-week schedule for a three-man crew.
